How the “media” twisted facts since the beginning of times.

During the last night of the cruise, we had the chance to make a late night visit at Luxor Temple. The lighting on such a majestic temple was an experience on its own.
The only drawback was the thousands of tourists who were present at time, so the place was very crowded with people trying to get the best photo opportunity.
Overall, Luxor Temple is another attraction, full of murals, statues and rest, but our guide Khalid pointed out that this temple was full of cover-ups!
It seems that the King, not being of a Royal Bloodline as required, painted a whole room in the way that his mother was involved with Amun Re, and so he was a direct discendant of the God himself, making him an official heir to the throne of Egypt… and since the priests pushed such propaganda, the people believed and accepted this as the truth.
If this was not enough, when Alexander the Great took over Egypt, instead of using only force to conquer, he decided to paint himself on the walls of the Holy of Holies, as chosen by the Gods, and so the people worshipped him as he was sort of prophecy.
At this point, I have a lot of questions, but two are in particular… So both the King and Alexander the Great managed to deceit an entire civilization with some writings on a wall, how come we dont’t question all the “writings on the wall”?
And secondly, is it possible that our current leaders are using a similar strategy to keep us under control, and serve the “King” without any hesitation?
I reserve the right to my personal opinion, but I would love to discuss different viewpoints.
