Day 13 – Back to Cairo for NYE Celebrations

An easy evening amidst the Chaos

After leaving the Desert, we had a 5 hour drive towards Cairo. In fact we arrived at the Guest House around 17:00.

I took a nap during most of the drive, but at one point I stumbled over a Podcast which was an interview with Patrick Gaffiero, the High Priest of the Church of Lucifer, who happens to be Maltese. It was very interesting to listen to a different perspective, at this point I do not disregard any sort of beliefs or philosophies since I am still connecting the dots. So, I always keep an open mind, and then choose what applies to me.

Upon arriving, Rami took us for a quick snack, and passed by the barber for some refurbishment. Upon browsing on Facebook, waiting for my turn, a friend posted about Sirius being in its highest position on New Year’s Eve at Midnight…what???

John and I spent a lot of time taking pictures of Orion’s Belt and Sirius knowing that they are quite important in regards to the Pyramids, but we had no idea that in that particular evening in the desert, they would have been in the best position possible, so in my books that is another sign.

We returned to the Guest House, and we decided to celebrate (and experiment) with some Blue Lotus tea. The Blue Lotus is a very significant flower in Upper Egypt, in fact it was used as a divination plant medicine, aphrodisiac and other uses which are still being discovered to date.

We didn’t feel much, but overall we were very relaxed, and a bit “happier” with silly jokes, banter and some hearty laughs. We really enjoyed ourselves!

When midnight struck, some fireworks were set off, we took time to enjoy this, set our intentions for the New Year, and went back to our rooms to rest.

Happy New Year, and wish you all the best for 2023!
