The more time passes, the more I understand that there is no difference from being human, animal, or any other living being.
I am starting to understand the illusion of separation more and more, and this is pointing me towards choosing a different lifestyle altogether, even though this might not make sense for the majority of people.
Yesterday, we stayed in a beautiful cottage in Pedara, where the owners held a beautiful black horse – Nerone, a sweet goat – Carmelina and three dogs.
Being an animal lover, I don’t mind getting close and personal with such beautiful creatures, but what struck me the most was the connection I had with the horse.
This majestic beast behaved the very same as my cats… it started headbutting me, enjoying cuddles, and was chasing me around caring for me. At that point, I recalled what Mustafa (the masseuse) had said during my stay in Luxor, and he had mentioned a black horse specifically.
This makes me question the way we humans are treating these beings for consumption… since I strongly believe we are abusing our needs simply for financial gains whilst torturing farm animals. We do not need meat for daily consumption.
There again, I am not Vegan and not planning on imposing “rules” on myself, but I am conscious on the choices of where my food comes from, and will make sure to eat only what is enough for survival, without abusing resources.
Back Home Soon,
